The Mexican soccer player Selene Cortés also denounces harassment in the networks: "Let's not wait for this to become normal"

Sexist violence against soccer players on social networks has once again become evident. The Mexican soccer player Selene Cortés denounced that a subject was harassing her through her Instagram account. The Pachuca player exposed on her Twitter account how a user, angelpuentee01_, has made sexual publications with photographs of Cortés and even threatened to abuse her.

“Things that for some people are 'normal' because we are public figures. They are not normal, let's not wait for this to 'normalize' or wait for something to happen to dare to act," Cortés wrote. The Twitter user has used the athlete's photographs to call her "mommy" or "bitch" and extended his threats: "It wouldn't be bad to bump into you here in Pachuca and abuse you," he wrote.
